Liquitex Professional Gloss Medium increases the surface gloss, colour depth and transparency of your colour, whilst extending it without affecting stability. Its formula maintains paint adhesion, durability and stability and can be used to lower the viscosity of heavier bodied paint. It can also be used as a lightweight collaging glue, and a fixative for pastels, graphite or chalks. You can thin this medium by diluting with up to 25% water (distilled water gives the best results).
To use mix as much as you like into your chosen acrylic colour to create the transparency and viscosity required. The more you add the thinner and more transparent your colour will be. Stir gently to avoid foaming, and if bubbles appear leave the mixture to sit for them dissipate. To use as a fixative for pastels, chalks and graphite mix 1 part medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with an atomiser or airbrush. The medium is semi-opaque when wet, and transparent when dry. Do not shake vigorously as this can result in a foggy hazy look when dry. Not for use with non-acrylic media.
