At Crafty Arts we try our best to follow procedures that help the environment. Our aim for the future is to reduce the amount of waste that we have and to recycle wherever possible.
Here are some examples of the processes that we have put in place to help keep Crafty Arts environmentally friendly.
Our Working Day...
At Crafty Arts, we operate a "Think Paperless" working environment, meaning that we never print emails or documents unless we really have to. Our new Peoplevox operating system allows us to use Paperless Picking - meaning all of our orders are picked electronically and they are only dispatched with a small delivery note for your reference. All of our invoices are sent electronically via email and we recommend that they are not printed to help the environment.
Our Packaging...
We buy our packaging materials from Rajapak, an environmentally concious packaging company. Their cardboard packages contain at least 75% recycled materials and these are also 100% recyclable. Rajapak is committed to the improvement of its environmental practices, and passing these on through its products. They also aim to increase the use of recycled materials in their packaging, with a view to making them totally eco-friendly. Since 2008, just as a company, they have recycled over 87,000 tonnes of cardboard and plastic!
Visit Rajapak to find out more about their recycling policies.
With orders going out from January 2020, we will be using recycled packaging from deliveries and orders. Recycled boxes will come with a little sticker showing that the box your order has come in has helped us reduce waste. Keep your eyes out for our recycled boxes and reach out on social media if you reuse it further.
Our Couriers...
When you order an item to be sent via Standard or Tracked Delivery, it is dispatched with Royal Mail. Royal Mail work with a number of partners to insure that their carbon footprint is as low as it can be and were recently awarded The Carbon Trust Standard. This certifies that they have genuinely reduced their carbon footprint and that they are committed to making further reductions every year. They also work with WRAP who help individuals and companies to understand the impact of their waste and how to reduce it.
Visit WRAP to find out more about how to reduce your waste.
When you order for Express Delivery, your order will arrive using our courier, DPD. As an express parcel company, DPD has identified that CO2 reduction is the greatest challenge it faces, as well as its best opportunity to make a difference. This is why they have implemented Total Zero, their own carbon neutrality commitment. Total Zero ensures that parcels of all weights, sizes and types are shipped to any corner of the globe at no cost to the environment - an initiative that has received industry recognition and support.

Our Waste...
Every piece of packaging that comes in to Crafty Arts is either reused on site, or goes back out to our waste controller, McGrath. Now considered as one of the UK's premier recycling companies, McGrath collect and process all of our waste, which they sort through and recycle most, if not all of. They are constantly looking for ways to improve their carbon footprint, and new ways of making recycling waste more efficient.
Visit McGrath to find out more.
Rest assured that we at Crafty Arts care about our Planet and we will continue to make every effort to improve and maintain or environmental practises. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve our footprint, please do contact us and let us know.
