The intense black charcoal pencils with a 4mm thick soft lead that is made from a soft natural charcoal, encased in a wooden barrel. Charcoal pencils are perfect for sketching and the pencil form offers more control and is less mess compared to charcoal sticks.

It may sound impossible, but these black charcoal pencils give the darkest black I've ever used. Will definitely be investing in some more.

Like graphite, I live using Charcoal. But unlike the less messy graphite, I've tended to veer away from Charcoal, due to the mess. However, with these Caran d'Ache Charcoal Pencils, a high percentage of the mess is eradicated. A pleasure to use and I'll definitely be choosing Charcoal media more often.
