Summer Funday 27th August 2016

So Last Year we held our first Summer Funday, we had stalls, demonstrators, face-painting, cupcakes, sunshine and most importantly we had you, our customers!

We are doing it all and more again this year on Saturday 27th August. As it is our 25th birthday this year we are having the Deputy Mayor present us with a special Birthday Plaque which will be lovely!

For everyone who had their faces painted by the wonderful Dobby – she is coming back! We asked for her early this year because her work is so amazing, and she is constantly in demand. Here are a few pictures from last year, and just to warn you I will be first in the line this year and I would like to have my face like a dragon just like David did (pictured).

Dobby is a true artist and can paint anything you like. Last year we had a baby who wanted his face painted, but because of his age Dobby drew little goldfish on his feet which were adorable. We can’t wait to get her back.

Sarah our card-making instructor will be there running a mini demo all day and showing you tips and techniques she uses plus she will have her beautiful cards to sell.

From Crafter’s Companion we will have the wonderful Roz Tinline will be showing you the fantastic Diamond Press machine and dies from Crafters Companion. Roz and Sarah will be will be demonstrating her cardmaking and scrapbooking ideas.

From Caran D’ache we will have Bob Larkin who works in Norfolk and divides his time between producing and marketing his own artworks and running a number of private all-ability art groups for adults across the county. He will be showing you professional tips and essential techniques and demonstrating a range of beautiful Caran D’ache pencils.

From Fimo we will be having the lovely Emma Angel creating all sorts of polymer clay. Emma has run a fair few workshops with us now this is definitely firm favourite amongst our customers young and old. On the day she will be showing you how to make cupcakes out of Fimo polymer clay in her kids workshop

Local artists John Clarke (Oil Colours), William Newton (Watercolours) and Peter Woolston (Acrylics) will be showcasing work and demonstrating their techniques, so feel free to come and pick their brains. They all have a wealth experience to glean.

The knitting group is back  for an outside knit and knatter!

And of course in Kids corner we will have painting with me!- very messy painting on our very large canvas- so the kids can get they can get their face painted with Dobby using Snazaroo face paints and then help me paint a giant comic!

New to Crafty Arts we have Kirsty from “The Little Black Cat” who will be showing her jewellery, demonstrating how her beaded bracelets are made. We will have Kirsty in the autumn running some jewellery courses in the run up to Christmas!

Sues Cupcakes will be returning for another year with us and we are rubbing our bellies in anticipation for all the scrummy cookies and cupcakes (they will also make an appearance at the Macmillan coffee morning in September!)

The Funday should have lots to do for the whole family for adults who are interested in the art and craft lessons and lots of after school lessons and holiday workshops for the kids!

We have a whole lots more planned for August 27th so I do hope to see you there!

Please bring the sunshine!
